All students should wear proper clothing. The following dress code will apply to all students at Boone Trail Elementary School this year.
• Shoes are to be worn at all times. No Heelys, the wheel must be removed in order to wear at school.
• Shirts and pants should be buttoned and/or zipped properly.
• Hats, tams, bandanas, etc. should not be worn in the school building during school hours.
• All shorts should be at fingertip length or appropriate depending on the age of the student.
• All clothes should fit appropriately. Sagging waistlines or exposing midriffs will not be allowed.
• Clothing should not be worn that advertises inappropriate products for this age level or depicts inappropriate slogans, pictures or language.
• The absence or addition of anything else that would be embarrassing to those present or reflect adversely on the school in any way is strictly prohibited.
• Clothing which symbolizes or promotes gang participation.

The board prohibits appearance or clothing that does the following:
• violates a reasonable dress code adopted and publicized by the school,
• is substantially disruptive,
• is provocative or obscene, or
• endangers the health or safety of the student or others.

A student that is not in compliance with this policy or a school dress code will be given a reasonable period of time to make adjustments so that he/she will be in compliance. Failure to comply will result in the student being removed from school until their appearance or clothing meets school district policy or rules. The student's parent/guardian will be notified prior to any such removal.
