TITLE I

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Title I Program is a supplementary program for educationally disadvantaged students. The project is written to meet the reading and math needs of students in grades K-8 who have not achieved grade level proficiency. Students served are determined through use of mulitple criteria to prioritize need.

The ESEA Title I Program consists of reading and math teachers who supplement the needs of students in a lab and/or inclusion setting. Title I teachers and classroom teachers share methods, materials and ideas to met the participants' needs. This team also makes decisions about the specifics of students' individualized instructional programs.
