Welcome from the Superintendent - Mr. Tom Frye |
Dear Harnett County Schools' Families and Community Members: Each year the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, schools, and newspapers across the state work together to publish Education Report Cards for North Carolina schools. These Report Cards outline the facts about our schools and district, demonstrating Harnett County Schools' commitment to the highest level of achievement for our students. Our Report Card is one part of an ongoing effort to inform you about our schools honoring our shared accountability in educating our students. It contains information about school performance, class sizes, attendance, school safety, instructional resources, and teacher quality. The Report Card offers many facts about our schools, but we know that numbers alone do not represent the positive learning environment you help shape in Harnett County Schools. Harnett County Schools has caring teachers and support staff that diligently pursue improving student achievement. Our efforts and the efforts of our parents and students are reflected in the steady progress of increased performance. We encourage you to study the Report Card and to look behind the numbers to learn more about our schools and how we can work collaboratively to strengthen our schools. As we work together in this endeavor, be assured that continuous improvement efforts are ongoing at the district and school levels. The plans for our district and for each school are available on our website http://www.harnett.k12.nc.us under the “School Improvement” link. We appreciate our partnership with you and hope that our Report Card will lead you to continued involvement and support of our schools. Thomas S. Frye Superintendent |
