"Today we learn, tomorrow we lead!"

Coats Elementary School would like to welcome you to our school. We serve students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth.  Our school has a population of approximately 765 students and a dedicated staff of 35 homeroom teachers and 19 special area teachers.

Our teachers use the goals and objectives outlined by the Common Core Standards and the K-2 Assessment Goals for Literacy, Math and Writing to guide their daily instructional activities. It is the desire of all staff members that each student perform academically on or above grade level according to the Harnett County Promotion Standards. We also strive to meet the challenges set by the federal No Child Left Behind legislation of 2002.

The Coats Elementary School community provides a nurturing environment which promotes learning as a lifelong process and enables each child to be an educated, confident, self-directed, postive member of an ever-changing global society.  With our "Coats Family," parents and community working together, our mission can be accomplished.  At Coats, we are creating future leaders!
