Anderson Creek Primary subscribes to BrainPOP Jr., an online resource that provides animated, curriculum-based content for K-3 students covering topics within Science, Writing, Social Studies, Health, Reading and Math. Each animated movie has leveled quizzes, games, activities and lesson ideas that develop students' critical thinking and inquiry skills. BrainPOP Jr. is easy to navigate and text is read aloud so young students can browse the site on their own. Our students have access to the site from school and home. Contact your child's teacher for the login and password information and then just follow this link to use BrainPOP Jr. Enjoy!

We are busy in the computer lab as we prepare our 21st century learners for a bright future. The students come to the computer lab once every two weeks where they are utilizing the available technology during their regular class times to demonstrate understanding of various concepts, to gather information, and to work on group projects. I am excited to bring many web 2.0 tools to life this year as I work closely with classroom teachers to enhance learning for every child.

We want to thank our computer technician, Lou Plummer, for all of his hard work and dedication this year. Not only is he an awesome technician, he held a presentation last year for our second grade students on the benefits of bicycling. He rode his bicycle all the way from his home in Fayetteville to our school on national Ride Your Bike to Work Day. Thanks Mr. Plummer!!!!
