The Coats Kiwanis Club sponsors the "kid" version of their community service club at our school. Currently all members are in grades 3-5. All members of the club have been nominated by their peers and were chosen for their outstanding character, leadership abilities, and willingness to help others.
The club meets once a month. At the meetings, our club president leads and conducts the meetings using parliamentary procedure. Club activities include a food drive, Read Around the Carolinas (members visit and read to K-2 classes), Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, fundraising activities, joint activities with the Coats Kiwanis, participating in the Coats Farmer's Day Parade and Coats Christmas Parade, and participating in K-Kids district and international club contests.
