School Social Work involves: 

• Providing support to students having difficulties with social, emotional and behavioral adjustments. 
• Providing crisis intervention.
• Linking students and families to community resources/agencies.
• Promoting regular school attendance.
• Conducting home visits. 
• Conducting assessments of student/family needs. 
• Providing parent education.
• Meeting with parents to discuss concerns about their child and/or family situation.
