Mrs. Teresa Bradley

I started my career in education twelve years ago! I was a teacher assistant at LaFayette Elem. for six years. During that time, I went back to school to complete my teaching degree. I received an Associate of Arts Degree from CCCC and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elem. Education from Campbell University. I just recently completed AIG Certification from Campbell University. This is my sixth year teaching at Coats Elementary. I have taught one year of second grade, and am now in my fifth year teaching first grade. I truly believe teaching is my calling in life.

In my free time (what is that!!) I enjoy singing. I am the youth choir director and a member of the handbell choir at my church. I am a huge Wizard of Oz fan! I also love taking pictures and scrapbooking them. Spending time with my family is where I get my biggest joy. I live in Plainview, just outside of Dunn, with my husband and our two sons. My husband, Michael, enjoys hunting and fishing. Our oldest son, Justin, is 21. He is a junior at Campbell University studying English, and pre-law. He is also an Eagle Scout! Our youngest son, Alex, is 17. He is a junior at Midway High School where he runs on the track team, is in the marching band, and theater arts. He is also an awesome guitartist! I thank God every day for my wonderful family. I have had the privilege of having the same awesome assistant for five years now. Mrs. Barbara Pollard and I promote an atmosphere of safety, trust, and respect. We try to teach the "whole child", not just the curriculum. We value cooperation and collaboration and believe that great things can happen when we work together!

Mrs. Barbara Pollard

I have been a teacher assistant and bus driver for the past 21 years! I love my job and take it very seriously. There is nothing that touches my heart more than watching a child read for the first time. It's like a lightbulb came on and there's no putting it out. In my free time I enjoy singing and swimming in my pool. I live with my husband, Joey, right here in Coats. Joey is retired. We have one son named Lee. He lives right beside me and was just married in October of 2011 to Brandy McLamb.
I have worked with many teachers over my 21 years at Coats Elementary and Mrs. Bradley tops my list. She has a passion to teach each child like no other. She makes learning so much fun. From the first time I worked with Mrs. Bradley, we hit it off. We both share the love of a wonderful family, and the passion of teaching each child to learn and be the best person they can be. Mrs. Bradley and I have laughed together and cried together. We are more like sisters than friends.
