*Below are question stems you can use to question your child about what she or he has read for their 30-uninterrupted minutes of reading each night (Monday-Thursday nights). Your son or daughter may write a brief summary of what he or she has read that night, or she or he can use one of the question stems below to answer a specific aspect of their nightly reading. If you have questions, PLEASE feel free to contact me. This nightly activity will help your child with reading comprehension, or understanding. In order to pass the 4th Grade End-of-Grade Test in Reading your child will need to be able to comprehend what he or she reads!! The stems start out with basic questions any 2nd grader should be able to answer. Difficulty increases as you go down the types of questions. By the end of the school year your child should be working on analyzing, evaluating, and creating.
