About the Teacher

This school year is my twenty-first year teaching, and my fourth year at Highland Elementary. Prior to coming to Highland, I taught for five years in Wake County Schools, and before that for twelve years at Coats Elementary here in Harnett County. My experience is in the upper elementary grades- fourth and fifth grade.   I hold a Master's degree in Elementary Education and I am also Academically Gifted Certified.   I recently completed my administration degree at Campbell University. I am divorced, and live in the Anderson Creek area, with my fifteen year old daughter and our many pets. We have two horses, four dogs, a rabbit, and two cats. I stay busy with the animals, my daughter, friends, and school but can always manage to find time to read a good book!
