Destiny Online Media Collection All four high schools in Harnett County are working together to build a shared collection of Ebooks! This collection enables students to access library materials from outside our physical walls. Ebooks can be accessed in Destiny (the same way print books are searched). Vision: The HCHS Media and Technology department will be the hub of the school where students and teachers go for information needs and the tools to communicate, collaborate, and problem-solve. Mission: “In order to be ready for college, workforce training, and life in a technological society, students need the ability to gather, comprehend, evaluate, synthesize, and report on information and ideas, to conduct original research in order to answer questions or solve problems, and to analyze and create a high volume and extensive range of print and non print texts in media forms old and new. The need to construct research and to produce and consume media is embedded into every aspect of today’s curriculum” (Common Core State Standards Initiative, 2010). Research and media skills will be taught within content areas through collaboration between teachers and media and technology staff at HCHS. |
Hours 7:15 to 3:00 Passes are available in the morning and during all lunch periods. |
