Parents and Students, welcome to the 2012-2013 School Year. We are excited about our new beginning and look forward to serving you with the latest in Artistic Concepts as directed by the NC Standard Course of Study.

What's New in Art

We have purchased (4) four potter's wheels and clay in order to integrate Pottery in our Art Courses this Semester. This will be part of the Sculpture section that we are implementing along with 3D plaster, papier mache sculpture and 21st Century technology Art Apps.

We will be integrating the Common Core Standards Model within our Art Curriculum and potentially expand into Computer Graphics and Digital Photography instruction using free Art Application software. Students will learn how to use graphics tools and photography to produce computer generated art in 2013-14. Once this program is available, our first assignment will be to design a magezine cover with the new graphic's software.

Additionally we have added a Wi-Fi laptop and 5 digital flip share cameras and Projector to our materials list, and will be working towards obtaining a Smartboard in 2013-14. 

Parents, funds are available in the Art Budget to make these changes, however we may need to purchase additional material and will probably have an Art fundraiser this Spring.
