Mr. Medinas

A native of the Central San Joaquin Valley in California, Mr. Medinas moved to North Carolina in the early Nineties. He first attended Merced College where he also played Football, before moving to Sacramento where he ran Cross Country and Track & Field. After getting a degree in Physical Education from Sacramento College; graduating with Honors and receiving an Educational Scholarship, he moved to obtain a degree in Political Science with a Social Studies Teacher Education Concentration and Minor in Physical Education with an Emphasis in Coaching from North Carolina State University.  While at NC State he participated in both intramurals and club sports while also working as a Personal Trainer and Managing a Corporate Fitness Facility. He has lived in North Carolina for over twenty-seven years now; twenty of that being right here in Harnett County.

Mr. Medinas started in Wake County assisting at Carroll Middle, student teaching at Apex High, and was part of the opening Staff of Southeast Raleigh High.  He also volunteered at Fuller Elementary while working in the private sector before ending up at Harnett Central Middle School in 2001. Spending two decades as both a Teacher and Coach, he has taught both High School and Middle School Social Studies as well as Health & Physical Education.  During that time, he has Coached Football, Track & Field, and Soccer; also helping out with Baseball, Basketball, and Golf as well as serving as Athletic Director.  He has been involved in both Science and Math Olympiads, taught Summer Trek, and is a Driver's Education Instructor for Harnett County Schools.

When he is not teaching, Mr. Medinas enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, sports, reading, leisure and outdoor activities.
