    Young Leaders Summit (YLS)
    Applications now open to high school juniors from all backgrounds! The Young Leaders Summit, presented by the Youth Leadership Consortium (YLC), is a free, four-day, overnight, college empowerment conference at the University of Chicago for a diverse cohort of 200 low-income high school juniors from all ethnic backgrounds, selected through a competitive application process. It is designed to give these young leaders the practical tools they need to successfully apply to top universities, have full access to scholarship and financial aid opportunities, and set a course for academic and career success.

    HSF’s Youth Leadership Institute (YLI)Applications now open to Latino high school juniors!  The Youth Leadership Institute is a free, four-day, overnight, college empowerment conference for Latino high school juniors held at two top universities across the US. This highly selective program is designed to give young Latino leaders the practical tools they need to successfully apply to top universities, have full access to scholarship and financial aid opportunities, and set a course for academic and career success.

    NC State Design Camps - For students interested in Architecture, Art & Design, Digital Media, Fibers & Fashion, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, and Landscape Architecture. Registration will open online January 14!
    Financial Assistance Scholarships are available! For those who apply, partial fees can be waived, on a basis of student need, motivation and merit. Information will be included in the online registration application. The deadline to apply for financial assistance scholarships is March 4

    National Youth Science Camp - Students must have documented superior academic proficiency, especially in math or the sciences. Also, students must have documented leadership abilities and social maturity through involvement in school or community activities. Finally, students must intend to pursue higher education and a career in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics related field.

    The Shelton Challenge at NC State - A six-day summer experience for rising 9th through 12th graders with a 3.0 grade point average (unweighted) or higher. Students will get to experience residence hall living, eat meals at a campus dining hall, and use indoor and outdoor recreation facilities. 

    The Reynolds Young Writers Workshop - The Reynolds Young Writers Workshop at Denison is an energizing 8-day program for motivated high school students (rising juniors and seniors) who love to write. The workshop is held each June on the beautiful campus of Denison University, a leading liberal arts college, in the village of Granville, Ohio.  

    First Robotics Competition - Students (9th-12th) can participate in a robotics competition where they will learn from professional engineers, build and compete with a robot of their own design, learn and use sophisticated software and hardware, compete and cooperate in alliances and tournaments, earn a place in the World Championship, and qualify for over $20 million in college scholarships
