• Promotion Board Dates:

    Wednesday and Thursday, September 25th and 26th

    October, 23rd and 24th

    November, 20th and 21st

    December, 18th and 19th

     

  • Promotion Requirements:

    PV2:

    • Receive a passing grade in JROTC
    • Have a balance of 5 merits
    • Company Commander recommendation 
    • Perform individual drill movements in Chapter 4
    • No Disciplinary Actions/Unexcused tardies within 1 month
    • Missed less than 3 uniform/PT days per quarter

    Corporal:

    • Have a GPA of 2.0 (attach copy of report card)
    • Held PFC for 4 weeks (may be waived by SAI/AI)
    • Receive a recommendation from Company Commander
    • Demonstrate proficiency by leading a squad in unarmed drill 
    • Have a balance of 15 Merits
    • Missed less than 2 Uniform/PT days per quarter
    • Have an organized and updated cadet portfolio
    • Recite the Cadet Creed 
    • Pass the NCO Board

    Sergeant:

    • GPA of 2.0(attach report card)

    • Held the rank of CPL for 8 weeks (May be waived by SAI/AI)

    • Demonstrates Proficiency in Leading a Squad

    • Supervises all cadets assigned to them/ensures they meet all requirements

    • No Disciplinary Actions/Unexcused Uniform Wear within Quarter

    • Have a balance of 15 Merits

    • Have an organized and updated cadet portfolio

    • JROTC grade of 80 percent or better

    • Attached a typed, one page essay explaining why you should be promoted to sergeant and about the lessons you learned since your promotion to corporal.

    • Pass the NCO Board 

    Staff Sergeant:

    • GPA of 2.0 (attach report card)

    • Held the rank of SGT for 8 weeks (May be waived by CDR/JROTC Instructor

    • Demonstrates proficiency in squad drill 

    • Conduct formal squad inspection

    • Have a balance of 30 merits

    •  No Disciplinary Actions/Unexcused Uniforms within Quarter

    • Have an organized and updated portfolio

    • JROTC grade of 80 percent or better

    • Attach a one page essay about the correlation between rank and responsibilty

    • Pass the NCO Board
