Hello! My name is Carol E. Baker-Speaks and I am beginning my 28th year in education. I am a product of Harnett County Schools. I graduated from Triton High School in 1989 being the very first class to complete all four years of high school there (Go Hawks!!). I attended North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina (Aggie Pride!!) I was deemed "highly qualified" to teach K-5 by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction when the No Child Left Behind Manadate was in place. I have served the students of Erwin my entire teaching career. I began in 1993 at then Erwin Middle School as a special education resource teacher. I was shared between Gentry Primary and Erwin Middle before Coats-Erwin Middle was established. When Coats-Erwin was opened in 1999; I stayed at Erwin Elementary. I was at Erwin Elementary full time until the 2016-2017 school term when I was shared with Coats-Erwin Middle & Erwin Elementary until October 2016. Mid October 2016 I was shared with Angier Elementary & Erwin Elementary. The 2017-2018 school term I was shared with Erwin Elementary & Gentry Primary. The 2018-2019 school term I returned full time where it all began for me at Erwin School. I live in Dunn with my husband John & our three dogs Sable, Smokey, and Midnight. Feel free to contact me.
