Battle of the Books

Harnett County Schools’ Battle of the Books competitions showcase students’ love of reading and teamwork. Sponsored by the North Carolina School Library Media Association (NCSLMA), this quiz-bowl–style program challenges students to read a selected list of books and compete by answering questions based on them. Open to elementary, middle, and high school students, the program encourages strong reading skills, collaboration, and a lifelong appreciation for literature.
