G Suite

Gmail

Every Harnett County Schools student receives a secure Gmail account as part of their Google Workspace for Education account. This account provides access to Google’s suite of productivity and collaboration tools, allowing students to communicate, collaborate, and manage their schoolwork in a safe digital environment.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom serves as the district’s learning management platform within Google Workspace for Education. Teachers can post assignments, announcements, instructional videos, learning resources, and class materials in a centralized location.

Students can easily track assignments, due dates, and feedback through Classroom. When assignments are created, related files are automatically organized in the student’s Google Drive, helping keep coursework organized and accessible.

If a student is absent, they can log into Google Classroom to review lessons, access resources, and stay up to date with class activities. Google Classroom also supports parent and guardian involvement through email summaries that provide information about missing work, upcoming assignments, and class announcements. Parents and guardians may choose to receive daily or weekly email updates to help support student success.

YouTube

Google Workspace for Education provides students with access to a restricted YouTube experience that supports teaching and learning. Teachers can share instructional videos via Google Classroom.
District-managed settings help ensure students access age-appropriate educational content.

Google Meet

Google Meet is the district’s video conferencing platform within Google Workspace for Education. Teachers can use Meet to facilitate virtual instruction and connect with guest speakers and experts.

Recorded lessons can be shared through Google Classroom, allowing students to review content and access instruction at a later time.
