Degrees and Certifications:

About the Teacher:
I attended Winona State University in Minnesota where I received a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education and Middle School Communication Arts and Literature. I also received an English as a Second Language certification from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Originally from the mid-west, my family relocated to North Carolina five years ago because my husband accepted a position with Campbell University. We have 2 young sons, a dog and a cat. Needless to say, our household is very active! In my free time I enjoy craft projects, spending time with my family, and exploring all that NC has to offer!
This will be my 11th year teaching and I am so fortunate to be doing something that I absolutely love! I have taught K5 through 8th grades in the areas of reading, content-based ESL, and AIG. I have been teaching at Highland Middle School since it opened and am so honored to be a part of this great community. This year I look forward to returning back to teaching English Language Arts and Social Studies in 6th grade.
