Mrs. Amber Anderson
Hello! My name is Amber Anderson and I teach a 2nd/3rd grade combination class at Lillington-Shawtown. This is my 20th year of teaching. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from Campbell University in Elementary Education (K-6). I also hold a North Carolina license in the area of Reading (K-12). In August of 2007, I earned my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading Specialist. In both 2005 and 2019, I was honored by my peers when I was selected as Lillington-Shawtown's Teacher of the Year. I have experience in several grade levels and have served as lead teacher in fourth grade, kindergarten, and second grade. I am also a mentor for beginning teachers.
I have five children who all attend Harnett County Schools. Megan is a 12th grader and Hailey is a 9th grader at HCHS, Evan is in 8th grade and Hunter is in 6th grade at HCMS, and Noah is a 4th grader- right here at LSES. My husband, Jesse, and I stay very busy with our jobs and our kids' activities, but we wouldn't have it any other way!
I am a native of Harnett County and a product of Harnett County Schools. I have a lot of pride in the education that I received in Harnett County, and I work hard to provide that same educational experience for my own students. I believe that children learn best through hands-on, cooperative, and interactive learning. My students are always engaged in my classroom! They may be singing, painting, dancing, drawing, writing, reading, or building, but they are ALWAYS learning. We simply learn everything the fun way!
