Ms. Reynolds Bond

I graduated from Triton High School in 2009 and have lived in North Carolina my entire life. In May of 2013, I graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Secondary English Education accredited by NCDPI and NCATE. I am a also a North Carolina Teaching Fellow and was granted many amazing opportunities to increase my prowess as a teacher. In May of 2015, I graduated with a Master of Arts degree in British and American Literature, also from North Carolina State University. The topics of my undergraduate and graduate career are an invaluable asset as I begin teaching. In my graduate career I sought out classes that would be beneficial to me as a teacher. My goal was to give myself as many background resources as I could so that I could act as a fount of knowledge for my students. I love working with high school students and inspiring in them a love of literature. I hope to create a safe place for my students when it comes to my classroom; I want them to be able to freely share their thoughts and ideas without fear of being mocked for their comments. I want to challenge them to consider the literature and the topics we cover in new and exciting ways, and to facilitate their ability to make literary interpretations for themselves. I believe it is important for any scholar to understand the critical environment that surrounds the work they plan to study, and my teaching style reflects that belief. I believe that keeping students interested in difficult texts is facilitated by their understanding of controversies or disagreements in the text's interpretation. I hope to inspire them to dig deeper than the surface level for any text they read.
