Ms. Tonya Davenport
Hello, my name is Tonya Davenport. Currently, this is my nineteeth year in education. I spent eleven years with the Cumberland County School System in North Carolina as a 2nd grade teacher for six years and an Instructional Coach for five years. My family relocated to Killeen, Texas where I taught 1st grade and then to Port Saint Lucie, Florida where I discovered that 4th grade was THE grade for me! After four years, my family had the opportunity to return back home, to Fayetteville, NC. Upon my return, I was offered this wonderful Instructional Coach position with Harnett County Schools at Highland Elementary, where I have been for four years.
I was born and raised as an "Air Force Brat", moving from instilation to instilation. I graduated from East Carolina University in 1999 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Child Studies. I have also earned a Florida Reading Endorsement Certificate.
I am the mother of four, and an expert petter and feeder of a pitbull, who just happens to be one of my four babies. When I am not at school, you most likely will find me spending time with my family or at the beach with my toes in the sand.
