Mrs. Stephanie Lopez

Hi! Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I am an Itinerant Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher for Harnett County Schools. I provide education specific to the needs students with hearing loss on:

  • self-advocacy
  • language development
  • use of assistive technology
  • communication
  • social skills
  • transition resources

I also provide support and consultation to general education and exceptional children’s teachers.

This is my second year at Highland Middle. I was born and raised in Southern California. I am an Army spouse and have lived and taught in St. Louis, Monterey (CA), Italy and now North Carolina since getting married in 2014. I have an adorable 8 month old little girl. I earned my undergraduate degree from Cal State University at Fullerton and my master's degree in Deaf Education (Birth-21) with an emphasis on Listening and Spoken Language from Washington University in St. Louis. I look forward to a great school year at HMS!
