I chose to learn and teach education because there is a need to educate a diversified body of students. One day during my years in intermediate school my friend I was skipping class in the auditorium during an award assembly, ironically, my name was called to receive one of the highest student recognitions, the “United Federation of Teachers” (UFT).  The award was given to one student in the school, who was recognized by all the teachers and administration, and surprisingly, that was me. It was that award that contributed to me becoming a “Big Sister” for the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa and pursuing a career in education. My professional goal is to teach a diversified Early Childhood Educational curriculum.
