Mr. Ucaner

I want to take this opportunity and introduce myself and express my excitement about working with your child this ensuing year. I love teaching EC students because I care deeply about each of them and their well-being. I believe all students can grow and develop by examining the issues we cover during class. The main goal of my course is to see academic and behavior growth. Over the course of this year, we will be learning a lot of new academic skills as well as social and behavior management skills.

Just a little bit about myself, I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Education from Dowling College in 2010, my Master of Arts from CUNY-Queens College in 2013 and my Master of Science in Conflict Resolution from Columbia University in 2016. Upon graduating from Columbia I worked closely with students with severe mental and physical disabilities for three years. Afterword, my family and I moved to the great state of North Carolina, where I taught at Overhills Middle School and Anderson Creek Primary as a  Cross-Categorical Resource teacher. Since then I have moved full-time to Anderson Creek Primary as an SCMC teacher of which I’m fully excited about and eager to begin classes.

I'm truly excited to work with your child and all of our students this year and see them grow into excellent leaders.
