    To be on the 2018-2019 Yearbook Staff (Fall 2018-Spring 2019), rising sophomores-seniors must apply through the yearbook adviser by February 2018.  This is an application process only.  Interested students must:

    1.  Have an A/B average in their current English class, be a student in good standing (passing ALL classes), adhere to the attendance policy, and not have records of ISS/OSS this school year.
    2.  Turn one teacher recommendations (must be from a current English teacher) 
    3.  Turn in an application with parent/student consent (signatures); this class counts selling ads and collecting monies as part of a grade; this class is a business as well as a publication, so ad sales and community relations are academic grades (non-negotiable
    4.  Have a genuine interest in preserving our school year using diversity, fair coverage, and ethical practices.

    I will NOT accept late applications or applications missing any information.  Only serious applicants need to apply.

    2018 Senior Ad Letter
    This letter explains the Senior Ad ordering process and lists important dates.  Deadlines are strict and firm.

    If you did not get a copy or lost it, please print this and make sure you turn it in with your payment.

    2018 Senior Ad Layout Choices 
    Be sure to include enough photos (no more or less) for the layout you choose.
    If you do not choose a layout, we will choose one for you and decide which photos to use.  There is a fee if you would like a layout other than what is provided on this document.
    Please do not submit too much text.  You are buying ONE PAGE; we cannot fit a page of text and all of your photos.  Choose text of appropriate length. 
    You do not have to print this if you choose the size and letter option and record it on your order form.

    2018 Senior Portrait Information
    Only Prestige portraits will be use in the senior portrait section of the yearbook;
    please read this information sheet carefully, and contact LifeTouch/Prestige Portraits [(910)-425-0290] if you have questions.  Photographs by other photographers MAY be used on your student's purchased senior page; however, photographs by other photographers can NOT be used in the senior portrait section of the yearbook.


    The Talon Yearbook is created by and for the students with the facilitation and guidance of Mrs. Loomis Starling.  Each year a new theme is selected and implimented.  The 2007 theme was Full S pe c t r um to kick off the first ever full color yearbook at WHHS.  The 2008 yearbook's theme was Talon Magazine . The 2009 theme wasDaydreaming and Doodling.  The 2010 theme was FRESH and included a 16-page spring 2011 insert which included all spring 2010 events such as military ball, prom, graduation, and all spring 2010 sports.  The 2011 Yearbook theme was Scratch-n-Sniff and included a 16-page spring 2011 insert.  The 2012 Yearbook theme was "Fly Like an Eagle" (music) and included a 16-page insert to capture spring 2012 events.  The 2013 yearbook's theme was If I Knew Then...What I Know Now.  We used pictures from "then" (1978) to "now" (2013) to compare and contrast our WHHS and our community has changed.  The 2014 yearbook's theme was Movies and used QR codes featuring short videos of life at WHHS.  The 2015 yearbook's theme was Superheroes and feature comicbook layouts and students in superhero costumes throughout the book. The 2016 yearbook's theme was Adventures Around The World. The 2017 yearbook's theme is Making our Legacy.
