Mrs. Jennifer Black Named Principal of Boone Trail Elementary School

LILLINGTON, NC –  The Harnett County Board of Education approved and announced a new administrative appointment during the Board of Education work session on January 25, 2021.  Mrs. Jennifer Black was named principal of Boone Trail Elementary School, where she currently serves as the interim principal.

An educator of 12 years, Black earned her undergraduate degree in Sports Management and a Masters in School Administration, both from Campbell University. 

Mrs. Blacked worked for 8 years in Parks and Recreation before moving into education. Before becoming an administrator, Black taught health and physical education in Lee County for 6 years. She served as assistant principal at both Overhills and Boone Trail Elementary Schools.

During her time with Harnett County Schools, Mrs. Black was recognized as Harnett County Schools Assistant Principal of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year. She is a member of the Harnett County Principals and Assistant Principals Association (HCPAPA), the North Carolina Principals and Assistant Principals Association (NCPAPA), and a new member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Phi Chapter.  

“I am excited to be named the Principal at Boone Trail Elementary School. I have had the opportunity to work at Boone Trail with an outstanding staff, students, parents, and community members over the last four years, and I am truly blessed to now serve as its Principal,” Stated Black. “Boone Trail has a long history of outstanding administrators, and I am honored to follow them in this role as Principal. I am looking forward to continuing to build on the traditions that have been established at Boone Trail and work towards moving all of our students to academic excellence with the support of the Boone Trail community.”
