The Harnett Health Sciences Academy was established in the Spring of 2015 and is a collaborative effort between the Harnett County Schools Career and Technical Education Department and Central Carolina Community College.  Currently, there are 62 members.  Twenty-five members were inducted into the first cohort in June 2015.  Twenty-seven members were inducted into the second cohort in June 2016.  Twenty-six members were inducted into the third cohort in May 2017.  We celebrated our first group of seniors to graduate with the Class of 2017.

Academy members participate in regular "Academy Activity Days," which help them explore different areas of the health care field.  They are also enrolled in Career and College Promise course offerings (during their junior and senior years) through CCCC to help further their health career interest while in high school.  Applications will be distributed in February and must be submitted by March 15th.  Freshman and sophomores at all Harnett County High Schools are eligible to apply.
