THS and OHS at FRC

THS #SOARIN and OHS #JAGWIRES competed at the FIRST Robotics Competition/District Competition at UNC Pembroke.

Congratulations for a job well done Triton and Overhills High School!

Team SOARIN earned the Rookie All-Star Award. This is the highest award a rookie team can win from FIRST.  This award celebrates the rookie team exemplifying a young but strong partnership effort, as well as implementing the mission of FIRST to inspire students to learn more about science and technology.  Winning the Rookie All- Star Award at the UNC- Pembroke tournament qualifies SOARIN to interview for the FNC State Championship Rookie All-Star.  The two rookie teams winning FNC All-Star will compete in the FIRST World Championships in Houston, TX.

Team JAG-WIRES were the 5th seed alliance captain but were defeated in the semifinals.  The team earned the Excellence in Engineering Award for the second time in as many years.  This award celebrates the team that demonstrates a professional approach to the design process.  A team must be able to describe the engineering process they went through and can trace elements of the designs from conception.  The designs reflect an engineering solution to a specific problem that is functional and practical, and the designs must be elegant and advantageous on the field of play.  The JAG-WIRES are currently ranked 17th in the state out of 90 teams and is one of 40 teams qualified to compete in the FNC State Championship at East Carolina University.

Thank you to all the team mentors for their hard work and dedication!
