Introducing the Harnett County Schools All County Jazz Band!

The HCS All-County Jazz band debuted on Friday, March 24 at a concert held at Harnett Central Middle School.

After 4 years, the dream finally became a reality with the first-ever musical performance featuring an auditioned jazz ensemble made up of instrumentalists from various Harnett County Middle and High Schools.

All-County Band programs are designed to give students the opportunity to participate in an advanced large ensemble. These talented musicians came together for the first time to rehearse and perform on concert day! This is a testament of the talent and skill demonstrated by the students and their band directors.

The HCS All-County Middle School Jazz Band was directed by Mr. Christopher Trautman, of Harnett County Middle School. While the All-County High School Jazz Band was directed by Mr. John Page III of Coats-Erwin Middle School.

This event would not have been possible without the help of Ms. Wendy Nash, AIG & Special Programs Coordinator for Harnett County Schools, as well as all the school band directors, administrators, our staff, volunteers, and parents. We are grateful for all of you.

To celebrate, we were treated to a special performance by an all-staff combo featuring some of our middle and high school band directors: Christopher Trautman (HCMS), Ryan Godwin (HCHS), Mark Doerffel (HMS), Georgia Edgerton (THS), Curtis Collins (WHHS). Among them were father and son duo, also performing for the first time, John Page Jr (DMS) and John Page III (CEMS).

What a great way to continue celebrating #MusicInOurSchoolsMonth !
