Ted Cummings
Join us in celebrating Mr. Ted Cummings, as he retires after 15 years of service to Harnett County Schools!

Mr. Cummings began his service ton Harnett County Schools as a groundskeeper at Western Harnett High School.  He later became an HCS Grounds Supervisor.  Although this was a second career for Mr. Cummings, He was determined to excel in all tasks assigned to him.

Mr. Garland McDowell, Director of Purchasing/Grounds & Custodial Services for Harnett County Schools said that "Ted Cummings was devoted to HCS and one of the hardest-working employees I have ever had the pleasure to work with."

Ted enjoys sports; he and his brothers often pulled the chains for WHHS football games. Mr. Cummings celebrated his 80th birthday just two days prior to his last workday. When asked about his retirement plans, he stated, "Travel with my wife Robin and spend more time playing golf with my grandson Dallas."

Congratulations on your retirement Mr. Ted Cummings! We are grateful for your service and wish you the best on your next chapter in life.
