The library at Overhills Middle School was not quiet, but for very good reasons. The students were engaged, discussing book choices and collaborating on special projects.

Ms. Heron said that she is so impressed with the enthusiasm the OMS students have for books. “They have a very good reading culture here, and it makes her very excited.” It is exactly how it should feel to be working in this space.
Dr. Benika Thompson, principal at Overhills Middles School said that “Ms. Herron is a phenomenal educator who has a passion for literacy and engaging young people.”
Ms Heron is new to OMS, but she immediately implemented weekly classroom rotations and open-circulation for the students.
“We are excited that Ms. Herron is preparing students and staff for the upcoming B.O.B. competition. She is an amazing addition to OMS Team.”
