Congratulations Nicole Tucker-Young on being elected as a regional representative for the North Carolina Association of Alternative Educators (NCAAE).
NCAAE is a professional organization that provides a network of resources for non-traditional educators, caregivers, and allies to positively impact he lives of students. They are advocates who promote access to quality, responsive, and equitable alternative learning programs.
As a regional representative, Nicole Tucker-Young will be a voice for Harnett County Schools.
She said that she strives to maintain high expectations for student learning, "I believe that student’s social and emotional well-being is important in helping students reach their full potential. I have been dedicated to creating a positive climate and safe environment where learning and growing can take place. I believe that alternative education programs should be supported and those that are privileged to work in the alternative setting must help to change the narrative of what others have perceived the alternative programs to be.”
