T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Scholarship Recipient: Brittney Tillman

Congratulations to Ms. Brittney Tillman on being awarded a BA Plus Scholarship Model for Community Specialists, through the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® NC Scholarship Program sponsored by Child Care Services Association (CCSA).

This program was created to provide educational opportunities to professionals working on behalf of the early care and education workforce.

She says that she “feels very fortunate to be able to go back to school without having to worry about student loans. This would not be possible to pursue without the scholarship”.

As a single parent to a student with exceptional needs due to a rare genetic disease, her passion for early intervention was inspired by seeing the positive impact it had on her own son.

Brittney currently serves as a Pre-K teacher to Exceptional Children in the Harnett Central Attendance Area. She is excited for this opportunity to earn her post-baccalaureate certificate (P.B.C.) in Birth-Kindergarten (BK) Licensure at UNC Greensboro.

Obtaining this certification will fuel her work as an advocate for children with rare diseases, support early intervention initiatives, and enhance her abilities to serve students in Harnett County.

We are grateful for Ms. Tillman and the difference she is making for children every day.
