FEBRUARY IS LOVE THE BUS MONTH
Join us in celebrating the yellow school bus experience during Love the Bus Month by showing our gratitude towards the dedicated professionals who ensure the safety of our students to and from school.
Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey, kicked-off the celebration at Benhaven Elementary School by presenting Monica Tyson-Crawford with a Heroism Award.
Tyson-Crawford serves as a teaching assistant and bus driver for Harnett County Schools. On November 14, 2023, she smelled smoke while en route to Benhaven Elementary School. Without hesitation, she safely pulled over and evacuated 38 students just seconds before the bus caught on fire.
Her quick and decisive actions to safeguard our students is a perfect example of self-less service and commitment to the safety and well-being of our children.
We are grateful for Monica Tyson-Crawford, all our bus drivers, trainers, and transportation support staff for all they do!
