We continue to celebrate #MusicInOurSchoolsMonth with our All-County Jazz Band! 🎶🎷🎺🎹🥁
All-County Band programs are designed to give students the opportunity to participate in an advanced large ensemble. The HCS All-County Jazz Band is made up of auditioned instrumentalists from various Harnett County Middle and High Schools. For one day only, they gather to rehearse and deliver a memorable musical performance. This year’s concert was held at the Dunn Middle School Auditorium on Thursday, March 21, 2024.
Father and son duo, John Page Jr. and John Page III led the Middle School and High School ensembles, through a fun musical selection. This night was made extra special, as we celebrated John Page Jr’s career in music and his service to Harnett County Schools. After 20+ years, he will be retiring to embrace the role of full-time grandpa to his sweet granddaughter Judith.
He said, “What a privilege it is to work with these children, and what a compliment it is for the band directors in this room”. With great pride and honor, he also announced that his son, Mr. John Page III wanted to continue his legacy by taking his place as band director at Dunn Middle School. We are grateful to both of them, and their families for their dedication and support of Harnett County Schools.
