HARNETT AGRICULTURE ACADEMY

Harnett County Schools has been awarded a North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission Grant in the amount of $214,000 for the Harnett Agriculture Academy at Triton High School.

The awarded funds will be used to build a barn structure that will provide equal access to agriculturally related: work-based learning experiences, and Career & College Promise Pathways. This project will strengthen the pipeline of graduates entering the agriculture sector in Harnett County and the region.

Bill Teague, Chairman of the TTFC stated that “We are pleased to partner with Harnett County Schools to support their agriculture education program.  The hands-on experience students will gain at this facility will benefit them throughout their careers”.

The Harnett Agriculture Academy is a collaborative effort between Harnett County Schools Career & Technical Education and Central Carolina Community College. We would like to thank the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission for their support.
