Meet the Teacher
Ms. Jessica Smith

Hi! I was born and raised in North Carolina and attended North Carolina State University in Raleigh. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communication – Interpersonal and my Masters in Special Education – Learning Disabilities.
My teaching career started over 25 years ago, and I’ve held a variety of roles in education through the years. I began my career as a Special Education Teacher in Wake County. Eleven years later, I started a new position as a Behavior Specialist for Harnett County Schools. In 2012, I became certified as a Reading Recovery teacher and continued in this role for 13 years, at various schools in Harnett County, but primarily at Anderson Creek Primary School.
This is my twelfth year teaching at Anderson Creek Primary. My position is a Reading Interventionist. I am passionate about working with students and teaching them the gift of reading.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, attending concerts and sporting events, crafting, painting and gardening.
