Hello 5th Grade Families!

I’m so excited to welcome you and your child to 5th grade! This school year marks my 16th year in education and my 8th with Harnett County Schools. While I’ve loved teaching 3rd grade since 2017, I’m thrilled to begin this new chapter in 5th grade here at Angier Elementary — where my HCS journey first began. I also bring experience in early childhood education (Birth–Pre-K), kindergarten, and first grade, all of which have helped shape the compassionate and creative educator I strive to be every day.

Outside of school, I’m a proud mom of 4. My home is always buzzing with love, activity, and a little bit of organized chaos! We love bowling, playing board games, visiting museums, and having movie marathons with popcorn and cozy blankets. When I find a quiet moment to myself, I enjoy reading, writing creatively, and diving into anything that lets me learn something new — whether it’s a fun fact, a recipe, or a piece of history.

In our classroom, curiosity and connection will drive everything we do. I want your child to feel confident asking questions, exploring new ideas, and sharing their thinking. There’s nothing better than witnessing the “aha!” moments when students make discoveries on their own. These are the moments that build critical thinking, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

As Albert Einstein said, “Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.” I’m committed to helping your child think deeply, grow confidently, and enjoy the learning process every step of the way.
