Meet the Librarian
Mrs. Baldwin

My name is Moriah Chavis Baldwin, and I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina's Graduate School. I received my Master's in Library and Information Science in May 2020, Magna Cum Laude. My focus during the program was school librarianship. I completed the program in just under two years, having started in June 2018. While working on my MLIS, I worked as a long-term substitute at Chester Senior High School in the Special Education department. I worked as a temporary aide and filled a vacancy as an Academic Support instructor, working alongside others in the SPED department also at CHS. After my year at CHS, I relocated to Anderson County and completed my first internship at Palmetto High School under Joanna Watkins. My second internship was at Slater-Marietta Elementary in Greenville County, which I completed in Spring 2020. I moved to North Carolina to accept the elementary librarian position at Cherokee Elementary in Cherokee, NC. I was awarded Teacher of the Year at CES for the 2020-2021 school year. I took the job at Benhaven Elementary in March 2023 as a 3rd Grade Teacher and will be the Media Coordinator/Librarian in the 2023-2024 school year!
