Welcome to Fourth Grade!

Hi! My name is Heather Osborne. I grew up in Hickory, NC, where I enjoyed spending time with my family, going on the lake, and babysitting. I knew at a very young age that I wanted to work with children! When I'm not teaching, I enjoy two-stepping & line dancing, going on the lake and snow skiing with my significant other of 9 years, Chris. I also love spending time with my friends, family, and furbabies. Unfortunately, I was not blessed with children of my own, so my furbabies are my world. We have a six-year-old German Shepherd Dog named Bentley. She is super smart, goes everywhere with us, and is super spoiled. (I wouldn't have it any other way!) Four years ago, we rescued 3 cats, Momma Maggie and her two kittens, Raven and Willow. We weren't really cat people, but they quickly wormed their way into our hearts...and our house! It took some time and patience, but we are now one little happy family!

In December 1998, I graduated from Appalachian State University and have been teaching ever since! I taught kindergarten, second, third, and fourth grades, but fourth grade is definitely my favorite! I moved to Harnett County in 2009 and became a 4th grade teacher at Benhaven Elementary. I earned my AIG certification from Campbell University and serve as the AIG lead for the school. I have very high academic and behavioral expectations for my students. My goal is for students to believe in themselves, develop good character traits, and become inquisitive, lifelong learners. I want them to love school as much as I love teaching!
