Meet the Teacher
Mrs. Ainsworth

This is my 6th year working for Harnett County Schools. I worked as a teacher's assistant and bus driver at Benhaven Elementary for three and a half years before coming to Boone Trail. I started in Kindergarten, went to EC for two years, moved to first grade, and now I'm back in Kindergarten. Kindergarten is where my heart is and I am excited to help your children get just as excited about coming to school every day. I have a son who is 21 and a daughter who is 18. My husband and I have been married for 23 years. We lived in California for 1 year before returning home to North Carolina. When I was a little girl I attended the old Boone Trail so I feel like I am back at home. I hope that one day, your children can look back at their days at Boone Trail the same way that I do.
I have a B.S in Emergency and Disaster Management from Western Carolina University and a Birth to Kindergarten licensure from Western Carolina.

Reading
Please make sure you are reading for at least 10 to 15 minutes every night with your child. I will send home a reading log at the beginning of the month. If your child returns the reading log with at least 85% completion, they will receive a prize at the end of the month.
Sight Words/Letters
Please review sight words every night.
I know everyone has a busy schedule outside of school. One idea to help your child with sight words is to take them where ever you go. If you are sitting in a line at the bank or at a fast food restaurant or any other lines, practice sight words with your child while you are waiting. I will be sending home flashcards weekly with the new sight words.
Attendance
Please make sure your child is on time and at school every day. It is important for your child to be at school so they are not missing important information that may set the stage for the rest of their educational experience.
If your child has to be absent, please make sure to send in a note with your child's name stating the reason they were absent, the date they were absent and your signature.
