Hello! My name is Rebecca Page Thomas and this is my 16th year teaching third grade. I taught four years at Erwin Elementary School, and now I am here at Boone Trail Elementary School! It is very nice to be “back home.” I grew up in Harnett County, and I still reside in Harnett County.

I attended Boone Trail Elementary School, Western Harnett Middle School and Western Harnett High School. At the start of my college journey I went to Central Carolina Community College and graduated with an Associate in Arts degree. Then I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in Elementary Education. I also earned a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University in December 2011 while working as an educator. I became a National Board certified teacher during the 2022-2023 school year.

I have been married to my wonderful husband Jeremy for 15 years. We have two sons. Vaden is 13 years old and is a eigth grader at Western Harnett Middle. He has Type 1 diabetes and that has been a new life journey for us. Elington will be 8 on September 18th. He is full of energy and very opinionated! We have a donkey with an interesting character. His name is Grady. We have a pet cow: “Maola.” We have 46 spoiled chickens. Also, we have an Old English Sheepdog, and his name is Dutton whom Vaden and Elington truly adore. We are very thankful and blessed.

It is amazing to be a teacher and see the children grow in their knowledge! It is my goal to teach my students in an engaging atmosphere. We will utilize a variety of technology in our learning experiences. I have very high, but reasonable expectations for each student.
