Meet the Teacher

Mrs. Tomala

Hello Boone Trail Pioneers!  My name is Andrea Tomala. I am an interventionist.  I grew up in New York state, but have been part of the Boone Trail community and have been an educator for 19 year.

When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons.

I received my undergraduate from SUNY Fredonia and masters degree from Edinboro University in Pennsylvania.  I love helping children learn to read, write and grow in confidence!  Being a support to teachers and parents along with watching readers and writers blossom is the best!

Daily Schedule

My day as an interventionist at Boone Trail Elementary includes instructing students individually or in small groups working on literacy skills; such as phonemic awareness, phonics, reading and writing.  The students selected to receive interventions are always shifting and changing in order to best serve the students.  The goal of my interventions is to offer instruction and support to students so that they obtain skills and strategies in literacy so that they are able to reach grade level performance and participate in the classroom.
