All About Mrs. Alvarado 

Mrs. Alvarado is 38 years old. Her birthday is December 13.  She is married to Mr. Dominic, who is a deputy in Harnett County. Mr. Dominic and Mrs. Alvarado have been together for 23 years.   They grew up in church together and attended school together.  Mr. Dominic enjoys watching YouTube videos and surfing online.  They have one son, named Josh, who attends Coats Erwin Middle.  Josh enjoys playing basketball, soccer, and baseball.

Mrs. Alvarado enjoys reading, playing with her dogs, going to the movies, eating out, and being with her family.  Mrs. Alvarado has 4 dogs (Neva, Zoey, Chug Norris, and Johnny).  She enjoys doing animal rescue and helping animals live a better life in a forever home.  

Mrs. Alvarado graduated in 2004 from Triton High School in Erwin.  She then got her bachelor's degree from Methodist University in Elementary Education in 2008.  Mrs. Alvarado taught kindergarten for 2 years at Gentry Primary before continuing her education at Campbell University with a master’s degree in Elementary Education and an add-on certification in Academically and Intelligently Gifted Education.  Mrs. Alvarado then moved up to 2nd grade and taught for 5 years.  She got an add-on degree in Special Education and taught Special Education at Gentry. Mrs. Alvarado was excited to make the move to Coats Elementary and taught 4th grade. She is currently working towards her Doctorate Degree in Education. Mrs. Alvarado is excited to begin her seventh year in Dual Language.

Class News

Have an amazing summer!

Homework

Students will have homework each night of the week. Students that have English class on Friday will have some homework over the weekend. Every night students should be studying their multiplication facts and completing their reading logs. Reading logs are due at the end of the month.

Please check your child's agenda each night for notes from the teacher, homework, and other papers.

Supply List

School Supply List for 4th Grade Dual Language

  • 4 composite books (3 for Mrs. Alvarado, 3 for Mr. Osuna)

  • 4 two-pocket folders (1 for Mrs. Alvarado, 2 for Mr. Osuna, and 1 for bookbag)

  • Zipper pencil pouch or pencil box (must fit in desk)

  • Pencils with erasers

  • Crayons/Colored Pencils

  • Glue sticks

  • Scissors

  • 2 packs of dry erase markers

  • 1 box of tissues

  • Headphones or earbuds (REQUIRED)

  • Backpack (with secure laptop pocket)

*Optional: 1 bottle of hand sanitizer

Policies & Procedures

Behavior Policy
We use classroom dojo to track classroom behavior. Parents can join and look at their child's daily behavior, as well as communicate with the teacher. There is an app you can download to your smartphone or you can use the website www.classdojo.com. Students earn classroom dojo points throughout the day for making good choices, following expectations, and being a good friend. 

We will continue to have our Jacket Jar.  Students can earn tickets to put in the Jacket Jar with their name on it. During the school week names will be drawn for special treats.
