Important Dates

First Day of School- August 13th

Google Classroom

Google classroom is an essential part of our classroom. Students use this daily to access important slides and documents covering topics we are learning in class. Students also use Google Classroom to complete assignments, take tests, complete research projects and much more. Students are able to access our Google Classroom from home on a personal device by using their school email and password.

Behavior

I use a positive reward system in our classroom in which students earn pom poms for positive behavior.   Students will earn a pom for making good choices, being a good friend, helping others, getting compliments from others, following daily routines, doing homework, attendance, etc…  As students save earned poms, they may then “spend” these poms on an item/activity that is listed on the reward chart posted in class. One of the choices is a trip to the treasure chest. If you would like to donate items for our treasure chest, it would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, we have a classroom bucket that we will fill up using “Gum Balls”.  If we have great behavior as a class, 100% attendance, 100% homework, etc…  we will earn these “gum balls . Once we fill up our class bucket,  we will celebrate with a class party!

Homework

Homework will be given Monday-Thursday. I do not give a lot of homework each night as I know family time is important. However, it is necessary for students to complete given homework as it serves as extra practice for material covered in class. Students will record homework assignments in their agendas and will be kept in their homework folders. If students have difficulty with homework assignments, please let me know and I will be sure to review those concepts in class. Most homework assignments will consist of math, spelling, and reading.
