Policies & Procedures

Absences: If your child is absent, you must send a signed, dated note within 3 days.  After 3 days the absence will be unexcused.

Tardies:  School begins at 8:15 a.m. and the tardy bell rings at 8:20 a.m.  If your child arrives after 8:20, you must come in and sign them in at the office.  As a reminder tardies are very disruptive to our day.  Please avoid them as much as possible.

STUDENTS SHOULD NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 7:45 A.M.  TEACHERS ARE NOT ON DUTY IN THEIR CLASSROOMS AND FOR SAFETY REASONS, STUDENTS SHOULD NOT BE UNATTENDED IN THE HALLWAYS.

BEE Books:  Please make sure your child brings their BEE Book to school every day.

Homework:  Check the BEE Book daily for homework.  It should be completed and returned the next day your child returns to my class.  PRACTICING SIGHT WORDS AND READING ARE PART OF YOUR CHILD'S HOMEWORK EVERY NIGHT.

Class Rules:

We will (at all times): be responsible, be respectful and be kind.  In order to achieve these goals, we will adhere to the following rules:

1.  Listen and follow directions.

2. Display self-discipline at all times.

3. Be kind to others.

4. Always tell the truth.

5. Keep hands, feet and other objects to yourself.

6. Take pride in your work.

7. Take care of your supplies and keep your area clean.

We will have a clip chart in the room with different levels.    All students will begin each day in the middle section (Ready to Learn).  Students will earn the opportunity to move their clip up for positive behavior choices or will be told to move it down in the event of negative behavior choices.  Their clip can move up or down throughout the day to reflect both positive or negative choices.  You will be notified daily of your child's behavior choices.
