Degrees & Certifications: I attended East Carolina University and earned a BS in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in English Language Arts and Social Studies.
I am originally from Washington, NC, a little town on the Pamlico River. We call it the "Original Washington," as our town was the first one founded with that namesake. It is known for our waterfront area, boat rides, sunsets, Bill's Hotdogs, and most of all, the community. Community is important wherever you are, and I am happy to have landed in a great one at DMS.
Outside of school, I will either be absorbed in a good book, working on my own, caring for my animals, or horseback riding. I aim to bring a passion for reading and literacy into my classroom. I truly believe everyone can find a joy in reading, you just need to find the right book for you!
I am grateful to have the privilege to teach your child and I am looking forward to a great school year!

Google Classroom & Grades
In order to log-in, students will need to know their @harnettstudents.org email address and their Google Classroom Class code. Please contact me if you need this information.
Parents/Guardians - you can also "connect" to your child's Google Classroom to monitor assignments. Again, please contact your child's teacher if you are interested in connecting.
How To: Log-In to Google Classroom
All grades will be updated weekly in Infinite Campus. All parents have access to the gradebook and can monitor student grades. If you ever have any questions, please reach out to me, as I am more than happy to discuss grades or assignments with you.
