Meet the Teacher

Ms. Martha Fuller

Martha Fuller

Welcome back!

This is my 23rd year in public education.  I have held various positions throughout my teaching career-TA in Severely and Profoundly Disabled, 1:1 assistant, and teaching in a self-contained classroom, with the population predominantly on the Autism Spectrum.  For most of my years I worked in Cumberland County in a self-contained pre-k classroom.  This is my 12th year in Harnett County.  I taught 2 years in an EC self-contained pre-k classroom, 3 years in Kindergarten, 2 years in First Grade, 4 years as EC CCR teacher, and this year I am returning to my first love-Pre-K!

I have my Master of Arts in Education: Reading Instruction from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I also have my AAS in Early Childhood Education and my Bachelors' Degree in Birth-Kindergarten Education.  I am licensed in Elementary Education (K-6); Exceptional Children: General Curriculum (K-12); Birth-Kindergarten; English as a Second Language (K-12); Reading (K-12)

Personally, I have 3 adult children-ages 32, 30, and 29.  I have 6 grandchildren-4 girls and 2 boys! I have three furbabies-one dog (Daisy) and two kitties (TJ & AJ)!

My motto has always been "If it is good for the child, I am willing to do it!" This motto has carried me through my personal life as well as my professional life!

In the classroom, I believe in positive behavior reinforcement through various strategies.  I use lots of music, visuals, kinesthetic and hands-on activities to meet the various learning styles of my students.

I acknowledge that YOU are your child's first teacher and look forward to collaborating with you on your child's continued growth and academic progress!

Play is a child's work and learning occurs through play! I love to play, learn, and have fun!

I am looking forward to having an AWESOME year!
