Technology
At Harnett Central Middle School, we are committed to preparing students for a connected world. As a 1:1 Chromebook school, each student is assigned a Chromebook for daily classroom use. This ensures equitable access to digital tools that support collaboration, creativity, and academic achievement.
Our classrooms are equipped with the latest instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning across all content areas:
1:1 Student Chromebooks: Every student is issued a personal Chromebook, which remains at school and is stored in secure charging carts.
Smart TVs & Apple TVs: Each classroom features wireless display technology, allowing teachers to present engaging lessons, videos, and interactive content with ease.
Digital Learning Platforms: We integrate technology into instruction using tools such as:
Google Classroom – for assignments, communication, and class resources
Canva for Education – for creative student projects and teacher resources
Infinite Campus – for grades, attendance, and parent communication
ClassLink – for single sign-on access to all student apps
Technology is embedded into daily instruction to foster 21st-century skills like critical thinking, digital literacy, and responsible online behavior.
Digital Responsibility & Student Expectations
All students are expected to follow school and district technology guidelines. Before receiving a Chromebook, students and families must review and sign our Student Technology Contract and Parent Permission Form.
Our school also emphasizes the importance of Digital Citizenship, helping students learn how to be safe, respectful, and responsible online.
